Myriad Gardens
When looking for a family-friendly something to do in the spring or summer in Downtown OKC, it’s difficult to find yourself anywhere other than the Myriad Gardens. The transition into amazing spring weather is marked by the OKC Arts Festival, it’s amazing visual and performing arts, food, and local involvement. As the summer moves into full swing, the splash pad is a great place to take the kids. The beautiful mosaic installation that anchors the splash pad is fun, interactive, and the best part: free. Throughout the summer check back for Shakespeare in the Park, Twilight Summer Concert Series on Sunday nights, midweek movies under the stars, dancing nights and more. Of course we can’t forget to mention that the Myriad Gardens was first a botanical park before all of these great activities started taking place around and within it. The small valley that houses the crystal bridge is lined with breathtaking floral arrangements and zig-zagging walking paths that lead down to a small pond where you can interact with the ducks, fish, and turtles. The crystal bridge itself is an experience like no other, enveloping visitors in a rich forest of exotic plants.
