Picture this: eight hours of music and art created by women displayed and performed in the heart of the city with event proceeds going to camps for young girls in the city. Even better? You can get in for FREE. 

What you’re imagining is AMP Festival. The purpose of AMP Fest is to celebrate art and music created by Powerful women. 

 “We need to do an all-female music festival,” Tobi Coleman said to her son when they started their business together last year. Tobi is a woman of ambition. She has big ideas and passion that fuel her successes. With her son Justin, they started Revolve Productions to bring unique events to the city. 

Revolve’s mission is to produce events that are both unique and have give back to the community. In the case of AMP Fest, a portion of the proceeds will go to OKC Rock ‘N Roll Camp for Girls and Oklahoma City Girls Art School. 

Tobi was having a hard time finding a venue for the festival and had settled on the idea that it wouldn’t happen in the 2016 calendar year.  That’s when Badass Aly Branstetter happened into her office and noticed the note on Tobi’s board that said “all-female music festival.” After hearing Tobi’s vision and struggles, Aly partnered with the other business owners on 9th St. in Automobile Alley and soon after, AMP Fest’s venue problem was solved. 

AMP Fest will be held from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 27th at 20 NW 9th, the section of 9th St. that has been known to host festivals and events. Booths will exhibit art and music like Millie Mesh, Willow Way and more will perform all day.

AMP Festival celebrates powerful women, but entrance is for all ages, genders and demographics.
