Weekend Warrior: August Edition.
So Stranger Things was awesome, but before you start another Netflix binge, get out into the city with these weekend suggestions.
Thursday, August 18th
Start the weekend early with Art After 5. You know you’ve been wanting to see the Matisse exhibit, so do it when entry is only $5! If you’re feeling exceptionally weekendy, pop up to the rooftop for drinks and live music.
Friday, August 19th
Depending on how cheap you are, there are three great ways to blow it out on Friday. If you didn’t score tickets to Penn and Teller or Oklahoma Born and Brewed, stop by Film Row and check out all the local makers and shakers that will be at Third Friday at the Plant Shoppe from 6:30-9:30 p.m.
Saturday, August 20th
Start the day off right by falling in the Myriad Garden pond. From 10 a.m.-2 p.m. you can paddle board on the pond. $5/15 min session.
End it with the Midnight Streak. Run/walk/party through Automobile Alley and Heritage Hills for Oklahoma Contemporary’s annual run for the arts. Don’t worry, if you just want to hit up the after party you can get three drink tickets for $15. Race starts at 8 p.m., details here.
Sunday, August 21st
Wake up late and mosey on over to the U23 Farmers Market. It starts at 10 a.m., so you won’t miss much if you’re still recovering from your run/walk/party from the night before. And if you just want to embrace the after-effects of your run/walk/party, crawl up 23rd through The Pump, Savings & Loan, and Rockford.
