Encouraging people to plan for New Year’s Eve isn’t an easy lede to an article, but let’s have real talk: there are a limited number of good options for NYE in OKC. Get tickets quickly or ring in the new year with your aunt and uncle and a hot game of Yahtzee. Don’t worry though, your aunt has some leftover cooking Sherry and is ready to party.

We know you “love” your family. That doesn’t mean you want to sit at home with them for the next two weeks. Here’s our curated list of out-of-the-house suggestions leading up to New Years Eve.

“Robot House Creative wants us to come by?” I said to myself as I reread the email for the tenth time. Robot House Creative, the Strategic Branding Agency behind the branding for Pump Bar, Hillbilly’s, and Rockford Cocktail Den invited ATB:OKC to come by and have drinks? The agency behind the Crazy Smart Radio Mullet campaign emailed us? On purpose?

Aly beamed about the beautiful day as we grabbed a table at Red Cup; the amazing colors in the trees, the crisp Oklahoma air reminding us that we are deep into autumn. Aly Branstetter is co-owner of Hillbilly’s in Automobile Alley, S&B’s Burger Joint on May, and the southern-style breakfast spot, Sunnyside Diner in Midtown, opening in 2016.

At the good word of Rally OKC and the Internet, we checked out the YWCA fundraiser at The Plant Shoppe in Film Row last Friday evening. Local artists covered Nina Simone songs to bring out the crowd and all the proceeds from the night went to YWCA.
